Who Are We?

Light House is a Christ Centered performing arts school focused on providing both Biblical and technical instruction in the arts with the intention that students will use their artistic gifts to glorify God.

Vision

We had this vision of a ship lost at sea that was desperately calling out for some sign of hope that land was near. It fought tirelessly through the wind and waves with not much hope insight. Suddenly a tiny speck of a yellow dot appeared. The ship sailed toward the speck and it got a bit brighter but still unsure of what the speck was. Hope was arising. The ship drew nearer, he was for sure it was a lighthouse but as he came closer he saw that it was not a lighthouse. What he saw was a city on a hill with all of their lights on (in the middle of the night) for the purpose of providing a way to those who were lost.

SCRIPTURE

“You are the Light of the World. A City on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.”

- Matthew 5:14-16

We chose “Light House” for a couple of reasons…

The arts need to be redeemed. The arts influence and carry a strong message out to many people. Right now we hear a strong narrative that is going in the total opposite direction of what God intended. We need our own lights to shine bright and be a presence in the darkness. The redemptive message of who the True Light is needs to be brighter.

We believe that each one of us has a house we are responsible for, making sure that light stays lit. When we tend to our own houses and then link arms with others that are letting the Light of the Lord shine we then become a much bigger/brighter Light. Together we are that city on a hill!
